Lockdown Activities

Just because the island (and world!) is in lockdown, it doesn’t mean that we can’t keep the fun Achievement Bute activities going!

We’re in the process of setting up a wealth of weekly online clubs and activities to keep everyone busy and entertained during this, frankly, absolutely bizarre period in history! Add this page to your bookmarks to keep up-to-date with what’s currently running, which will be displayed below:

‘The Great BUTE-ish Bake Off’

During this period of isolation at home, we want you to GET CREATIVE and GET INVOLVED! Join Layla and Molly as they face their baking fears and compete in our weekly baking challenges in a bid to be crowned Star Baker! Click here for more info!

‘Tales from the Orchard’

A story writing competition for children age 6-13. Earlier this year we started a project at the Community Orchard at Mount Stuart to make an illustrated map of the orchard with an accompanying interactive children’s game. Because of coronavirus of course, we had to cancel our planned activities at the orchard. Instead, we are creating a book, Tales from the Orchard, illustrated by Ruth Slater. ‘Comic Strip Challenge’

Comic Strip Challenge is a weekly art activity put together by our very own Louise Johnson. Normally Louise works on the production side of our “Jumping off the Stage” project, but during the lock-down she will be setting a number of online art challenges, which will go live across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at 4pm each Thursday. So, tune in, pick up your pencils and get drawing!
