Virtual Volunteer Programme

We know it may not feel like it due to any and all semblance of normality being completely out of the window at the moment,  but the ‘summer holidays’ are here! At Achievement Bute we’d usually be gearing up for a summer jam-packed full of activities and adventures…and we’re not about to let a little adversity stop us this year either! We’re about to roll out a full programme of ‘virtual’ summer activities for the children of Bute to enjoy and, as always, one of the most important aspects of our programme is our wonderful team of young volunteers!

We’re looking for young people, going into S3 or above after the school holidays, to take part in our ‘virtual volunteers programme’ this summer. Helping us generate ideas for our existing programme of activities (which will be announced soon!), film themselves demonstrating how to do/make things (it can be just their hands if they’re a little camera shy) and generally have fun being part of and socialising with a number of our existing team of 24 young volunteers. Volunteers will be able to choose what sort of things they want to do, ranging from 30 second clips of skimming stones to longer videos of art activities etc. Similarly, volunteering is always really flexible with time commitments and they can do as much or as little as they like!

Looking to the future, once normality resumes (whenever that may be), we will be looking to continue our traditional volunteer programme, complete with holiday events, term-time clubs, reward trips and much more. Anyone signing up to take part in the virtual programme, will be more than welcome to continue volunteering with us , but there is absolutely no pressure/requirement to do so. If you’re just looking for something fun to do this summer, that’s great too!
