We know it may not feel like it due to any and all semblance of normality being completely out of the window at the moment, but the show must go on! The last year’s calendar should have been packed full of fun Achievement Bute activities and adventures…and we’re not ones to let a little bit of adversity get in our way! While things might be more than a little bit different, we’re doing everything we can to provide a programme of events and activities to keep the children of Bute entertained, with one thing remaining the same, the involvement of our wonderful team of young volunteers!
We’re looking for young people, in S3 or above, to take part in our ‘virtual volunteers programme’. You’ll have opportunities to help us generate ideas for our existing programme of activities, film yourself demonstrating how to do/make things (it can be just your hands if you’re a little camera shy) and generally have fun being part of and socialising with a number of our existing team of 24 young volunteers. Volunteers are be able to choose what sort of things they want to do, ranging from 30 second clips of skimming stones to longer videos of art activities etc. Similarly, volunteering is always really flexible with time commitments, meaning you can do as much or as little as you like!
Looking to the future, once normality resumes (whenever that may be), we will be looking to continue our traditional volunteer programme, complete with holiday events, term-time clubs, reward trips and much more. Anyone signing up to take part in the virtual programme, will be more than welcome to continue volunteering with us , but there is absolutely no pressure/requirement to do so. If you’re just looking for something fun to do during the holidays, that’s great too!
